LIFE FRANCA includes several activities to strengthen specialists’ knowledge of regional risks, to promote a culture of flood anticipation and prevention, to update their knowledge on regulations and available tools and to improve their skills in dealing with risks and communicating them to the population.
Engineers, geologists, architects and other professionals operating in the region have always been involved in monitoring and mitigating risks and in developing new tools to protect the region from hydrogeological hazards.
Specialists understand the potentialities and limitations of hydrologic mitigation structures and hazard maps, but they often encounter difficulties in presenting such issues to non-specialists and the to the general public.
